Micky Finn's Announces New Barrel Picks For May, 2025

While Barrel Pick items were always a part Micky Finn’s offerings, shelves quickly ballooned with the new products after the June, 2024 announcement that the store was intensifying its commitment to bringing the best in barrel pick selections to its shelves. In fact, an entirely new section had to be installed in the Cashua location just to contain Micky Finn’s Barrel Picks.

As with any Barrel Pick item, each product is privately tasted and selected, ensuring the best of the best from each distiller and a unique taste that can only be found at Micky Finn’s.

In addition to the new items, Micky Finn's is currently offering a 10% discount on the purchase of two or more Barrel Picks.

If you’re looking for bourbon (particularly rare bourbons, allocated items, and barrel picks), Micky Finn’s has always been the number one stop in the Pee Dee and Florence area.

Below are just a few of the new arrivals as well as some of the products the store is highlighting:

High West

This unique blend of straight whiskeys is bottled at batch proof (119.6). Rich and spicy, this is a bold and interesting offering from Park City, Utah distillers, High West. Nose of banana, cherries, and vanilla. Sandalwood spice with a hint of lemon peel, finishing with caramel and spicy oak.

Codigo Reposado

Award winning tequila aged in the finest French White Oak barrels that previously held award winning Napa Cabernet Wine. Single dedicated distillery. Nom. Brand Bottled at origin. Rest in hand-charred French Oak barrels at our private distillery in Amatitan. Aged to taste instead of time. Bright, Sweet, Grassy Agave notes with the added complexity of vanilla, toasted caramel, pepper and subtle cocoa powder.

Paul Sutton Bourbon

Bottled at 115 proof aged 6 years in a number 4 (alligator char) barrel, this Kentucky bourbon has a creamy vanilla nose with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Big and bold, with brown sugar and caramel on the palate. Long vanilla, honey, and cinnamon finish.

Bulleit Bourbon Single Barrel

Bottled at 104 proof, this straight bourbon has a 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malt mash bill. Warm nose, with vanilla, caramel, and orange zest. Sweet on the palate, with peppery oak and cinnamon. Finish with pepper, spice, and oak.

Woodinville Bourbon Whiskey

Rabbit Hole Heigold Single Barrel

70% corn, 25% malted rye, and 5% malted barley and 108.1 proof, this is a limited edition single barrel offering from Rabbit Hole. Nose of sweet toasty malt with candied apple and brown sugar. Palate serves up caramel, oak, and butterscotch. Medium finish with prominent rye spice and toffee.

Paladar Reposado

92 Proof

From the last of the independent founding families of tequila, Paladar is a homage to the traditions of Mexico. We harvest 7-Year Blue Weber agave from our own fields, which slow cooks in brick ovens and open-air pine-box ferments in wild and proprietary yeast. Each batch of Paladar is twice distilled in a copper and stainless steel pot blend. Our Paladar Reposado is then aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 4 months. Yellowstone Whiskey

Middle West Straight Rye Whiskey

The Dark Pumpernickel Rye Whiskey stands as the first of its kind in North America, with 80% dark pumpernickel rye in its mash bill. This rare grain provides a softer spiciness compared to the rye most commonly used in rye whiskey. The addition of non-GMO yellow Corn, soft red winter wheat and two-row barley creates a balance for a unique rye whiskey experience. It presents a nose of brioche, vanilla, cinnamon and aged leather. The palate is subtly sweet and medium-bodied, with notes of dried cherry and nutmeg. It has a medium finish, featuring dark fruits, toasted caramel and oak. – Middle West website

Ezra Brooks Full Proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This full proof (120 proof) Kentucky Bourbon has a 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malt mash bill. Nose of caramel and baking spices, with a hint of raisins. Touches of cinnamon, spice, with secondary sweet toffee on the palate. Finishes with dark spice, tobacco, and fruity notes.

Stranahan’s Blue Peak Single Malt Whiskey

This American single malt whiskey is aged four years in a new #3 char barrel, then solera finished in New York bourbon barrels. Nose offers dried apricot, leather, and nutmeg. Palate serves up creamy butterscotch, brown sugar, and caramel apples. Rich and mellow finish with earthy malts and lingering spice.

Virginia Distillery Co.

VHW Single Barrel Port Cask is crafted with 100% malted barley whisky by marrying our American Single Malt Whisky with Scottish Single Malt Whisky, creating a truly unique spirit that embodies the founding principles of our distillery. Both whiskies are

distilled on hand-hammered, traditional copper pot stills, and harmonize in barrel in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.

Remus Single Barrel

This bourbon from the historic Ross and Squibb distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. Bottled at 108.5 proof, the nose offers vanilla, leather, and a hint of spice. On the palate, peppery oak, brown sugar, and apricot show, followed by a long, warm, thick caramel finish.

End of Days Barrel Aged Rum

Six & Twenty Old Money Wheat Whiskey

Made in Piedmont, South Carolina with only local soft red wheat. This wheat whiskey is aged in new charred barrels for three years and bottled at cask strength (119.8 proof). Nose of fresh bread, hay, and vanilla. Soft clover honey on the palate, with smokey oak and cinnamon. Long bold finish.

1792 Full Proof

Bourbon insiders have long acknowledged that full proof bourbon has a distinguished and rich flavor. This bourbon underwent a distinct filtering process,forgoing the typical chill filtration and passing only through a plate and frame filter. This allowed the bourbon to maintain a robust proof for bottling, as well as a full, rich and bold flavor. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

Woodford Double Oak is first aged in new oak barrels, then put into another new toasted and lightly charred barrel for an additional period. 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mashbill. Dark caramel, vanilla, and toasty oak on the nose. Oak and sweet vanilla with hints of leather and dark fruit on the palate. Long finish with burnt caramel and rye spice.

Woodford Reserve

The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. The perfectly balanced taste of our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is comprised of more than 200 detectable flavor notes, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, and fruit & floral notes.

Savage & Cooke Rye Whiskey

Distilled in California, this straight rye whiskey is golden brown in color, and offers hints of orange, brown sugar, and ginger on the nose. 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley. Sweet spice and honey citrus on the palate. Finish holds long and sweet.

FEW Bottled in Bond Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey

A singular expression of our Bottled in Bond bourbon, the fine liquid within this bottle has been matured in New American Oak Barrels to produce a Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey that shall never be duplicated. Selected by a unique individual for the singular drinker who drinks it now.

Tumblin’ Dice Straight Rye Whiskey

Nose

Opulent dark chocolate abounds. Hazelnut shavings cover a glowing nougat aroma. Dried cherries and wisps of herbal sage. Maple syrup.

Palate

Crisp texture with black pepper and flavors that flow into a cast of herbal notes. Earthy-soft sweetness from a light oak frame. BBQ and ginger.

Larceny Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Old Soul Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Nose: A quick hit of that rye spice that quickly evolves into a dark fruity note (fig, plum, black cherry) all mixed in with the buttery sweet nose of the corn intermingled from start to finish.

Palate: Sweet, buttery, caramel with a slight drizzle of dark chocolate on the front end. Pleasant black pepper and baking spices tend to show up and linger giving way to the warm sensation you expect and love from a good bourbon. A drop of water really opens up the sweeter spices, giving way to a cinnamon and nutmeg warmth and sweetness.

Heaven's Door 

The Heaven’s Door Micky Finn’s Barrel Pick mashbill is 78% corn, 13% Rye, and 9% Barley. Distilled in Kentucky, with a Toasted Oak Finish, and #4 char. This particular barrel incorporates all of the important signature elements of the nationally available product with a notably smoother, sweet flavor and smooth finish.
